The Lark tells the stunning story of Joan of Arc. The Maid’s life are played out during the trial as her accusers struggle to turn her simplicity of purpose to heresy. The maid of Orleans has been captured and political expediency requires that she is dealt with swiftly. But it is the glories of her story rather than the tragedy of her death that is the triumphant climax of the play.
